Description
Oxytocin is a nine-amino acid cyclic neuropeptide and hormone produced in the hypothalamus. It has been characterized in preclinical research as an agonist at the oxytocin receptor, making it a widely used tool compound for isolating neuroendocrine and social-behavior endpoints in experimental designs.
Oxytocin has been used in preclinical in vitro and rodent model studies to investigate receptor signaling dynamics, social and pair-bonding behavioral paradigms, stress-axis modulation, smooth muscle contractility, and neuroendocrine release characterization. Its established pharmacology supports a broad range of cell-based and rodent research applications.
Intended use: In vitro and preclinical in vivo laboratory research only. Not approved for human or veterinary use.
