Description
Epithalon is a synthetic tetrapeptide (Ala-Glu-Asp-Gly) derived from the pineal extract epithalamin. Its very short sequence makes it a useful model for short-peptide research.
In cultured cells and laboratory animals, investigations have focused on proposed telomerase activity, telomere upkeep in dividing cells, pineal-linked neuroendocrine signaling, and oxidative-stress responses. Its simplicity supports clean mechanistic study.
