Description
Oxytocin is a cyclic nonapeptide hormone produced in the hypothalamus and released from the posterior pituitary. Researchers use it as a reference ligand for the oxytocin receptor in neuroendocrine research.
In rodent models and cultured cells, investigations have focused on oxytocin receptor binding, hypothalamic circuit mapping, social-behavior assays, and smooth-muscle cell signaling. Its well-characterized structure makes it a standard comparator in neuropeptide receptor studies.
Intended use: In vitro and preclinical in vivo laboratory research only. Not approved for human or veterinary use.
