Description
Epithalon is a synthetic tetrapeptide (Ala-Glu-Asp-Gly) modeled on epithalamin, a peptide fraction of the pineal gland. Researchers use it as a reference compound in telomere biology and pineal signaling research.
In cultured human fibroblasts and rodent models, investigations have focused on telomerase activity, telomere length measurement, melatonin-pathway regulation, and gene-expression changes in pineal and retinal tissue. Its four-residue structure makes it a simple probe for short-peptide bioregulation studies.
Intended use: In vitro and preclinical in vivo laboratory research only. Not approved for human or veterinary use.
