Description
SNAP-8 is a synthetic octapeptide derived from the N-terminal sequence of SNAP-25. It has been characterized in preclinical research as a putative modulator of SNARE complex formation, making it a useful tool compound for isolating neurotransmitter-release and exocytosis endpoints in experimental designs.
SNAP-8 has been examined in preclinical in vitro and cell-based studies of SNARE complex assembly, vesicle exocytosis dynamics, and neuromuscular signaling models, as well as in dermal fibroblast assays of muscle-contraction signaling. Its sequence-defined activity supports mechanistic characterization of exocytotic processes in laboratory research.
