Description
VIP (vasoactive intestinal peptide) is an endogenous 28-amino acid neuropeptide belonging to the secretin-glucagon peptide family. It has been characterized in preclinical research as an agonist at VPAC receptors, making it a useful tool compound for isolating neuroimmune and vasodilatory endpoints in experimental designs.
VIP has been used in preclinical in vitro and rodent model studies to investigate immune cell signaling, anti-inflammatory cytokine modulation, smooth muscle relaxation, and circadian and neuroendocrine regulation.
