Description
Epitalon is a synthetic tetrapeptide (Ala-Glu-Asp-Gly) modeled on the pineal peptide epithalamin, studied as a reference peptide in cellular-aging research. Its very short sequence makes it a useful model for short-peptide work.
In cultured cells and laboratory animals, investigations have focused on proposed telomerase activity, telomere upkeep in dividing cells, pineal-linked neuroendocrine signaling, and oxidative-stress responses. Its simplicity supports clean mechanistic study.
